Two scheduled river crossings link Porto with Vila Nova de Gaia across the Douro: one between Ribeira and the Gaia quay, the other, nearer the river mouth, between Cais do Ouro and Afurada. Both belong to the Andante network, so a ticket valid for the zone works on board; you can also buy a single or a same-day return from the crew.
